La Maddalena Archipelago is made up of 8 main islands: : La Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi, Spargiotto, Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria and about sixty islands and islets that characterize the uniqueness and beauty of this territory.
How to get there: located in the north east of Sardinia, on the border with Corsica, the island of La Maddalena is easily reachable from the marina of Palau by ferry, the crossing takes about twenty minutes, the frequency of the races is every quarter from now during the day and every hour during the night.
The territory: La Maddalena Archipelago is home to the first National Park of Sardinia since 1994, the only one in Italy consisting of the whole territory of a single municipality. The town of La Maddalena, located on the southern side of the island of the same name is not the only “inhabited corner” of the Archipelago, with the exception of Borgo di Stagnali in Caprera, about twenty houses in all and some villas on the island of Santa Maria . La Maddalena is a lively tourist center surrounded by a clear sea with a myriad of beaches and coves with wonderful seabeds. The island of Caprera is connected to La Maddalena by a bridge, all other islands can be reached only by sea. For lovers of trekking, in Caprera, throughout the year it is possible to take advantage of the trail network restored by the Park Authority, the signage is recognizable because it is uniformed to that proposed by the C.A.I., present throughout the national territory.
The archipelago lends itself to many facets: the activities to be carried out are numerous, of course you can not get bored. From the historical cultural tourism with the presence in Caprera of two important museums: the Compendio garibaldinola, home museum of Giuseppe Garibaldi Garibaldi, the first museum for the number of visits in Sardinia and the Memorial, a multimedia museum dedicated to him. The museums of the CEA, the Park Environmental Education Center: the geomineralogical museum and the museum of the sea and seafaring traditions.
The youngest will find endless moments of leisure and entertainment thanks to the presence of nightclubs, tennis courts, water ski school, sailing center, riding center, diving, soccer field, motorbike rentals, quod, cars and bikes.

The seas of the Archipelago are the kingdom of sailing and windsurfing thanks to the wind that beats on the islands. Large stretches of sea constitute real “gyms” for experienced sailors and beginners.
For divers who wish to explore the depths of the Park it is possible to organize guided dives, even at night, with equipment provided by the various Diving Centers authorized by the Park Authority on the island of La Maddalena.
